I was issued a parking fine even though I used ParkMan. What happens now?
Oh my, sorry to hear that! The best you can do is to reach out to the parking provider who issued the fine, they will be able to give their view of why the fine was issued. Details about the fine and contact details of the provider will also be visible on the fine itself. If you are about to contest the fine, you can request a receipt for your parking payment by following these steps:
- Open the ParkMan app on your phone
- Open the app menu from the ≡ button in the top left corner
- Select My parkings
- Mark the parking or parkings you would like a separate receipt for and press the green Send button. The receipt is sent to you in a matter of moments.
If you would like to, we can check some details for you. In that case, please send a photo of the fine to and mention your ParkMan account email address or phone number, and we’ll have a look.

Does ParkMan take chargeable hours into account?
Yes it does. The parking history will always show the total parking time, but the app knows not to charge for a parking, or part of a parking, that is active outside of the chargeable hours.
This allows you to leave the car in one spot overnight (where allowed), and you will not have to wake up in the morning just to start the parking, instead you can sleep tight as long as you select a long enough parking time the night before.

How can I get receipts for my parking?
You can request receipts for specific parkings like this:
- Open the ParkMan app on your phone
- Open the app menu from the ☰ button in the top left corner
- Select "My parkings"
- Mark the parking or parkings you would like a separate receipt for and press the green Send button. The receipt is sent to you in a matter of moments.
This receipt can be saved as PDF via the Print feature in your email provider.
Please note that all your previous invoices can be found from the app menu option of "Payment and invoices"

What does the parking price consist of?
ParkMan charges a commission percentage of the parking tariff plus a service fee. The fee covers transaction costs and app features and changes by country. We do not charge any fixed monthly fees, you pay as you park. With ParkMan, you do not need to guesstimate how long your stay is going to be and pay too much by cash. You only pay for the exact time you park.*
In the long run, paying with ParkMan will save you money compared to paying to the parking meter, as you can stop the parking when you return to the car. Using ParkMan is also a smoother experience, as you can extend the parking where you are, as long as you have an internet connection.
* ParkMan follows the tariffs of the parking areas. Some areas have fixed e.g. minimum, hourly, or daily tariffs. A price quote for the selected parking duration is shown in-app before the parking is started.

Why have I been charged even if I didn't park that day?
At ParkMan, we generally collect all payments for transactions made during the month, and charge the total amount on or around the first day of the following month.
Finland is an exception where we have a real-time charging for private user accounts. However, monthly charging is in use for Finnish company accounts. With real-time charging we try to charge the parking 1 minute after parking ends. If the charge is not successful, we try again automatically 48 hours after the parking has ended and for the third time 12 days after the parking has ended. The user can manually activate another attempt to charge the card by updating the card details in the app.
If your email address is connected to your account we will also email you the receipt for the charge, which lists the specific parkings and transactions along with the full amount charged. Otherwise, you can find the documentation from the app menu's "Payment and invoices" → "Invoices" section.

How do I update my payment card?
Here is how you can update your payment card in the app (and complete an outstanding payment if there is one):
- Open the ParkMan app on your phone
- Open the app menu from the top left corner by pressing the ☰ button
- Select "Payment and invoices"
- Tap the three dots to the right of your payment card and press the green pen button
- Fill in your card details and confirm.
The payment card update is done when the app notifies you that the card was successfully updated.

Why did the payment from my card fail? What can I do about it?
The most common reasons for a payment failing are:
- Card settings not allowing online purchases
- A temporary lack of funds
- The payment card connected to ParkMan is no longer valid (expired or replaced by the bank)
The fastest way to complete the payment is to update the card details in the app. Even if the card is still the same, we will try charging you when you enter the card details one more time. Here’s how to update the card:
- Open the ParkMan app on your phone
- Open the app menu from the top left corner by pressing the ☰ button
- Select "Payment and invoices"
- Tap the three dots to the right of your payment card and press the green pen button.
- Fill in your card details and confirm.
The payment card update is done when the app notifies you that the card was successfully updated.

How do I use ParkMan?
Here are instructions for using the app. The list of steps is detailed, but rest assured that the process to start and stop your parking payment is swift and easy.
- When you arrive at a parking area where you can pay with ParkMan, open the app on your phone.
- The app will locate you using your phone's GPS function. By browsing the map, you can specify the location to make sure the green map pin is at the same location as your car.
Below the map the app displays information about the area you have selected. - When the area is correct, select the area from the list.
- The app will show you a screen where you can select the register plate number of the car, the preliminary maximum duration of the parking and the desired payment method. These details can be adjusted by tapping on them.
- When the location, duration, and register plate number are correct, tap "Confirm parking".
- Wait until you see a timer on the screen as a sign that the parking payment is now active.
- When you return to your car and intend to stop parking, open the app and tap “Stop parking”. The app will ask you to confirm if you wish to stop parking.
- Once the parking has ended, the app will show you a receipt of the parking.

Logging in with phone number
A new user will join ParkMan using their phone number, with the option of adding an email address e.g. for receiving receipts/invoices.
An old user, meaning a user who joined ParkMan with their email address and have so far been sent the monthly invoices by email, is still able to log in on their existing account on e.g. a new phone. By doing this, payment and vehicle details remain and using the service can continue from where the old phone was left. Here’s how to sign in on the existing account:
- Download ParkMan onto the phone from Google Play/App store
- Select "Login"
- Verify your phone number
- When you have verified your phone number, you will be asked to login with your email address and ParkMan password
- Your phone number is now connected to your ParkMan account and from now on, you will log in with your phone number. You will remain logged in as before, logging in is only necessary when e.g. changing your phone or reinstalling the app.

How do I change my email address or phone number associated with my account?
If you want to change the email address or phone number associated with your account, please contact our customer care team via email on support@parkman.io.
In your email, please verify the phone number or email address currently associated with your account along with the details you would like instead. Please also verify two of the following:
- The four last digits of the payment card number connected to your ParkMan account (No CVC/CVV, please), or
- The date and approximate time of your most recent parking, or
- The date and sum of the most recent payment we have charged on your card
With this information we will be able to make the requested changes on your ParkMan account.

Where do I get the ParkMan windshield sticker?
The windshield sticker is no longer required. It is enough to start the parking for the correct parking area and vehicle for the traffic warden to find your payment. They will check ParkMan automatically if there is no traditional pay-and-display ticket in the car.

I got a new car, what do I need to do? How do I select the correct car when parking?
From the top right corner of the ParkMan app, you find the menu. From the menu, open "Vehicles" to be able to add and remove registration numbers. When you start your parking, tap the registration number shown in the confirm view to choose the correct car.
There is an optional feature using which the app will always ask you to select the registration plate when you start a parking. You can activate it from the Vehicles menu by tapping "Always ask me to choose the car" (Android) or "Ask licence plate always" (iPhone).

How do I change my email address or phone number associated with my account?
If you want to change the email address or phone number associated with your account, please contact our customer care team via email on support@parkman.io.
In your email, please verify the phone number or email address currently associated with your account along with the details you would like instead. Please also verify two of the following:
- The four last digits of the payment card number connected to your ParkMan account (No CVC/CVV, please), or
- The date and approximate time of your most recent parking, or
- The date and sum of the most recent payment we have charged on your card
With this information we will be able to make the requested changes on your ParkMan account.

Will ParkMan remind me to stop my parking?
When you start parking, you can set a preliminary parking time (ranging from 15 minutes to 4 weeks) after which the parking will automatically end. You can adjust parking time during the parking if needed. The app notifies you 15 minutes before the parking is about to end.
The app also has a feature which aims to remind you to stop the parking when you return to your car, using the phone’s location services. The "Smart reminder" (Android) or "Remind at car" (iOS) feature is switched on from the "My profile and settings" menu on Android or from the active parking view on iOS. You can try to improve its accuracy by setting the location accuracy to "High" (Android) / by allowing ParkMan to "Always" access the location services on your phone (iPhone), and by turning on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Please note that the notifications from ParkMan will follow the current sound profile of your phone. If your phone is set to Do not disturb or if the sound is switched off, the application will not be able to notify you with sound.

How does the Parking discount/Invite a friend campaign work?
You can earn up to a total of five parking discounts by joining ParkMan with a campaign code and by inviting friends to ParkMan. The discount carries a value of $10.00 a piece.
The new user joins using the link you can send them or by entering your campaign code when joining. When they start using ParkMan you will receive one discount each - on us! The new user will have to enter all the necessary details for paying for parking before the discounts are activated for the two of you.
The limitations of the campaign are:
- You can earn up to five discounts via this ongoing campaign
- One car can get the sign-up discount on up to three ParkMan accounts, to cater for e.g. a family or group of friends who share a car.

How do I get a low-emission benefit for my vehicle in ParkMan?
Low emission car discount is currently available in some cities in Finland and Denmark.
